Commissions

Commissions process:

Tips for taking a good photo:

  • To start the process off, you’ll need to contact me so we can discuss what you’d like drawn.
  • Once we have decided on what you’d like, I can provide a full quote and book you in (you can see my Price List page to get an idea of prices). I will advise of any waiting lists at this point.
  • If you’re happy to proceed, I will need a £30 non-refundable deposit from you to secure the booking, which you can pay through my online store.
  • You’ll then need to send me a good quality photo for me to work from (see "tips for taking a good photo")
  • I will start your commission on the agreed date, and send you progress updates along the way.
  • Commissions usually take 1-2 weeks to complete, depending on size and number of subjects etc.
  • The remainder of the price will be paid upon completion of the portrait (provided you are happy with it of course!), and prior to posting.
  • Once payment is received, I will post your portrait out to you by Royal Mail Special Delivery.

Tips for taking a good photo:

  • Please make sure that the photo is clear, with good lighting, and that the face can be clearly seen.
  • Try not to use a flash if possible – natural light definitely makes for a better portrait!
  • Photos should not be ‘fuzzy’ – good and clear where detail of the face / fur can be clearly seen.
  • Ensure you are happy with the pose / composition! The drawing will be done exactly as the photo appears, so it is important that you like the pose of the person / pet.
  • If you have a lot of photos and are unsure which photo to use, you can send them to me and I can give you my advice on which I feel would work best.

How much will it cost?

Please do not send photographs that are fuzzy, poorly lit, or where you cannot see the facial features properly.
To produce your commission to the best quality standard possible, I need a good quality photo from which to work from.

Please remember - you are paying for this! So, the better quality input you provide, the better quality output I can give you.
